It is one of the most touristy towns in the Algarve (southern region of Portugal), and the one with the largest number of foreign residents, but still with a lot of charm. Albufeira is best known for its very vibrant nightlife scene. The epicenter is in Montechoro, at Avenida Francisco Sá Carneiro (we call it also "Rua da Oura", as it leads to Oura beach), in what’s known as “The Strip” - home to restaurants, bars, nighclubs, frequent parties and discos open until the early hours of the morning.
